Penny Dreadful City Of Angels my first impressions
Today I watched the first three episodes of the Penny Dreadful City Of Angels spin-off.
The show's title is because the show's setting is the city of Los Angeles California, in the late 1930s, beginning of the 1940s.
The show was filmed earlier last year before the pandemic broke loose, and I imagine it won't be in production until it is safe to film again. That goes for the rest of Hollywood as well!
The first three shows do not give you much of the supernatural aura the original series had. Instead to me it seems more of a social commentary on the strong racism issues of the era, some of which sadly are still present today in the United St
About our lives right now
This has nothing to do with art, but I found a very comprehensive and informative interview that explains in depth the current global pandemic and what we can do and don't do about it.
The interview is in Korean, but it is English subtitled. Please, do take your time and see/read it. You'll be better informed from a real scientific source that actually does know about this.
Thank you and stay home and be safe.

My personal opinion on it....
I feel fucking fooled so badly!!!!! Still and now even more than I already did!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes I'm deeply angry about THIS!
Because,... You kidding, right?! This is just fooling loyal fans, making money out of something perfect, which was taking away from all of us much to soon and wrongly!!!
THIS IS NOT PD! An
Penny Dreadful to live on as monster movies
So Universal Pictures seems to have taken Logan's idea of Penny Dreadful where all the Gothic monsters live under one universe and is going to apply them to a series of horror monster movies of characters they've owned copyrights and TM since the days of black and white cinema.
The opening of these movies was The Mummy with the main character changed into a woman, and her name is Amunet who'd bring about mankind's subjugation and utter destruction, sound familiar?
Not only that but the movies planned and already in pre-production stages The Wolfman, Frankenstein, Frankenstein's Bride, Dr, Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and others with the only differen

For me this season is kind of odd because there is no common goal binding the characters together ("so we walk alone").
To me the storyline seems to have been dragging on at a slow pace. I'm glad we got to know Ethan's past and why his father has been sending all these men after him. His origins as a werewolf, as to how he became so are yet to be unveiled.
The addition of Dr. Jekyll, Kaetenay, Dr. Seward, Mr. Renfield and Catriona Hartdegen is most welcomed, don't care much for now the little psychopath Justine, but Lily's story won't be completed this season but the next.
The past two seasons most episodes really had me scared , but this season only a few moments/scenes have done so.
I don't find the actor playing Dracula as imposing and powerfully evil as the character should be, his Dr. Alexander Sweet is great, like his name he is sweet and most enthusiastic about zoology. I blame it on watching too many Dracula movies as a boy and the 1979 Frank Langella's version and the one with Gary Oldman.
I think the last three remaining shows promise to be very dramatic and action packed, but I know the last one will leave us hanging there for season 4, perhaps already in preproduction as they begin shooting in early October.
So far I've enjoyed:
The fact that Victor and Henry were old friends because I kind of called it before the season started. Also feel sad for Victor and his broken heart because I've been there. His line "Where you go I belong" made me all teary eyed.
The Creature finally remembers his past, we saw his "before life".
The new vampires, very different from the ones in season 1.
The American West theme of cowboys and indians, since many think this is just a TV series for women, they got all "testosterony" with Ethan's story. Great gunfights and the abduction on the train! I was quite shocked when Malcom shot his father and he didn't complete his last sentence. Yeah! Take that you fu....ing bastard! Ethan was a nice guy and he messed him up!
Eva Green's tushi, or bum.
So far did not like
The slow pace of the first few shows. I felt they were dragging me on without really telling me anything new.
Mr. Lyle's departure on last week's show. He's such a cool character, and kind of a comedy relief. I want him back.
Dracula (so far) the actor can do better, even a better voice for him.
