To all dear and loyal Dreadful out there pls support us to get our so beloved series BACK for at least one more season! Click here and sign the Petition -www.change.org/p/netflix-save-…

We have to keep trying QQ
Peter Jackson also once said he won't return to Middle earth and in the end he gave us the Hobbit. Tim Burton always said he won't do squales but did with Batman and also returned to Alice in Wonderland 2 so did Steven Spielberg for Jurassic World!  All of them knew how much the fans loved what they did and how much support they would get by returning to something outstanding... And so is Penny Dreadful! To give it a new chance and to take care of it!

It can't end like that! The ending sucked! To many open questions and Vanessa deserved better! So does all the other great characters!
So PLEASE support us too and share this everywhere you can! Thank you very much!

I wrote a big "article" about how and why Penny Dreadful can continue:

The tragedy of Penny Dreadful and its futureA bold story is the only story worth telling.  Being brave in your writing draws the reader in; it adds tension and excitement to any story. The air of unpredictability is what keeps readers hooked. Whilst this is true for fiction the same mantra can be applied to television.
This is exactly what Penny Dreadful is (not was because I refuse to believe it’s over), a big bold, brave piece of storytelling, hooking the viewer with every twist, turn and reveal. Something about the characters and universe created by John Logan intrigues and inspires, it is a show that I certainly hadn’t seen the like of before.
It’s now been a week since the news broke that Penny Dreadful had ended or been cancelled, depending on your point of view/faith in humanity, and I'm pissed about it. I have spent almost every night since, lying awake in bed writing this letter in my head and I thought the only way to cure my Penny Dreadful-induced insomnia would be to write down everything I can

In short - I just don't see why Vanessa's ending has to be the ending of the show. Shows evolve, that's what keeps them new and interesting, and perhaps Vanessa's story was just the first arc in the whole Penny Dreadful anthology? I don't see any reason why the show can't continue, the rest of the characters and actors have so much to give and I feel that it would be a shame to waste their talents and stories, all because Showtime cancelled the show - there's NO WAY this was always planned as 3 seasons from the start, this is all JL keeping the peace/money considering he's under contract with Showtime, he's essentially their puppet, he says what they want him to say, or else he's out of a job. I can't believe that this ended exactly the way JL wanted it to end, Jekyll and Catriona would have never been written into the show if it was only 3 seasons and all about Vanessa - likewise for Ethan spending all of season 3 in America.

The reason Jekyll's pointless arc was introduced was all a set up for a further season where he would become a villain (Mr. Hyde). The reason Catriona was introduced was for her to become a series regular in season 4 and become the main female lead in Vanessa's absence. The reason Vanessa made the connection to Joan Clayton/Dr. Seward could be because this storyline would play out and there would be a big reveal of some sort as to Seward's origins (Why would Seward even bother saying she's Joan's descendant and adding further conspiracies to a final season already chocked full of storylines if there was no pay off in the end? All Seward had to say when confronted with their likeness is that she didn't know who Joan Clayton was - had never heard of her - but she didn't, she kept the story alive further proving that some pay off would eventually come about)

As for Vanessa returning if the series was picked up again - she could appear in flashbacks, perhaps Seward knew exactly who Vanessa was before she came to her - if she was Joan's reincarnation it could be possible that Seward kept a "watchful" eye over Vanessa between Joan's death and Vanessa coming to see her at her office. Vanessa could maybe appear to a grief-stricken Ethan who can't move on from her death, she could manifest herself in both his dreams and in real life because he just can't let her go. I'm against Victor bringing her back because any "happy ending" she received in the finale (however rushed and badly written it was) would be diminished if she was brought back as an undead corpse. Also it would take out the danger/excitement of the show because every time the gang faced a baddie we wouldn't be worried about the characters not making it because we'd just think "oh sure if [name] dies Victor can just bring them back" I think the reincarnation thing should only be used sparingly, too much use of it would take away the show's tension.

There's a great series of books by Catherine Fisher called the Chronoptika (first book is The Obsidian Mirror) and it deals with a mirror that has been around since the dawn of time and it posses the power of time travel. One of the book's main characters is distraught at his wife's death years and years ago that he hunts out this mirror and tries to use it to save his wife by going back into time. its an interesting piece of fantasy - and something of that nature could be enacted to save Vanessa/kill Dracula. How cool would it be if the gang found such a mirror (or device) and used it to go back in time to the dragon's lair and rescue Vanessa and kill Dracula, it would be a brilliant future season finale - imagine the fight scene between Malcolm, the gang and the vampires, and then suddenly future-Malcolm and the gang appear and help past-Malcolm and the gang defeat Dracula whilst future-Ethan goes to stop his past-self from shooting Vanessa, stopping everything just as they finish the Lord's prayer - the repercussions of time travel would be very interesting to explore and Vanessa would be alive - I think it would work in the context of the show's more steampunk/fantasy elements - its bat-shit crazy but it would be an amazing story arc to explore. How would their actions affect the present? What changes would take place now they plucked Vanessa from the past? All food for thought, and its not like time travel would be too far-fetched considering other elements within the show like reincarnation, possession, witches etc. etc. it would be something totally different and amazing to watch, just as Dracula comes down from his balcony and starts beating up the gang, their future selves appear and help in the battle to defeat him, then perhaps Vanessa (now not dead) could be the one to kill Dracula, thus ending the curse that's swept upon the city. maybe it's too "crazy" for the show, but it just proves that there's many ways this show can continue.

I just feel that there's so much freedom within the Dreadful universe (whether it be without Vanessa or bringing her back some how) that i think further seasons of the show need to happen! there's too much material that is going to waste by ending the show.
